Blumcraft Company oversize materials 1930-1950 records

The Blumcraft Company oversize materials consists of three folders of shop drawings, and a few blueprints for metalwork elements designed and installed by the Blumcraft Company. One folder contains drawings for the D.A. Marra residence in Fox Chapel in 1941. There are also drawings for other projects identified by client name and for unidentified projects. These can generally be dated to the period of 1930-1950.

Hyman David Blum was a Latvian immigrant trained as a blacksmith. In 1908, he started a business in Pittsburgh, manufacturing functional and ornamental objects of wrought iron and other metals. Hyman's sons, Louis, Max, and Harry worked for the company and it was renamed Hyman Blum Company and later Blumcraft Company.
